The Use Of Steroids On Professional Sports Teams

There is a growing problem today with Professional sports. The problem comes from steroids. Professional sports teams are using them at a greater rate than ever before and this is happening in all the professional sports leagues. No matter what professional sports team you’re dealing with, the problem persists, and league owners are at a loss regarding what to do about it.

There is a concern that this is already starting to spread into college sports. The idea of this is hurting the reputation of the college game in a variety of ways. Some fans are so upset about it that they would just as soon sit home and drink sparkling wine instead of dealing with all the corrupt elements in the various sports leagues. If college sports can be corrupted too, then many fans will be ready to throw in the towel.

The problem of steroids nearly destroyed the reputation of baseball, and it’s recently begun to hurt other sports like boxing, wrestling, and football. Fans don’t like the idea of records being broken by known steroid users, but there is very little they can do about it. Players like Barry Bonds, who abused steroids in baseball, have caused a lot of upset among fans, and people who watch other professional sports leagues are rightly concerned that this will eventually spread into their sport.

Some of the main concerns among fans include:

  • Records being destroyed in an unfair way
  • Young children being influenced to use drugs by athletes that they consider heroes.
  • College athletes feeling pressured to use performance enhancing drugs so that they can compete.

These concerns are real, and fans have had enough. Attendance in major league baseball has already suffered, and it can easily happen to other sports if they don’t deal with the problem soon. Professional sports teams need to get a handle on this, or they will very likely suffer severe financial consequences. Once a reputation is lost, it can be very hard to get it back. The fans have a long memory, so it’s better to keep things clean in the first place.
