College Sports Fan Gets Out Of Hand
College sports can get quite intense and when that happens, a college sports fan can really get out of hand. Especially when talking about college sports football, it is not uncommon for fans to make fools of themselves at American sports college events around the country. Sports and college go together quite well, but when fans take a colleges sports too seriously, dangerous things can happen.
Some fans go down to the college sports shop and they get all outfitted and ready for the game. Then those fans have a little bit too much burgundy or sparkling wine and they get out of hand. In one such case that has drawn a lot of attention in the sports world, a fan made obscene comments to Oregon running back Legarete Blount in this season’s opening game. Blount made headlines of the college sports world when he took matters into his own hands and punched a Boise State player following an opening night loss. What happened after that might have been worse, though.
Multiple fans poured out onto the field to celebrate the win, but a few of them took college sports football a bit too seriously. When sports and college mix in this way, universities are just asking for trouble. The fans that were out on the field came after Blount, shouting all sorts of derogatory comments his way. The player was already highly troubled after punching Boise State’s Byron Hout, but when the fans started coming at him from all angles, things escalated a little bit. Instead of the event going away, as Blount was taken to the locker room, it got worse because a fan just could not keep his mouth shut.
Though Blount did not throw a punch at the college sports fan, an encounter happened and that’s good for no one involved. The police had to intervene and get Blount off of the field safely, and colleges sports took a black eye on the night. Not only did the Blount issue blow up in the media, but it looked bad on the part of Boise State, as their fans did absolutely nothing to make the unfortunate night any better. In fact, they made it much worse.
