Dancing With the Stars
Dancing With The Stars One Of The Most Popular Reality Tv Shows
The format of the show is fairly simple. At the beginning of the season, each celebrity is paired with a professional ballroom dancer, with whom he or she will partner for the remainder of the season. Every week, the partners are assigned one or two different styles of ballroom dance to learn and perform for the reality TV audience. These styles include the samba, the quickstep, the tango, the Viennese waltz, the jive, the paso doble, the cha-cha-cha, the foxtrot, the Argentine tango, the salsa, the lindy hop and freestyle dance. The professional ballroom dancer is in charge of teaching the dance to the celebrity. Together, they perform for three judges. The judges give the celebrity feedback on his or her performance and then provide a score between one and ten. The three judges’ scores are added together for a final score.
The judges aren’t the only ones who determine who stays and who has to leave each week. Viewers get to call in and vote for their favorite celebrities. Each celebrity’s votes are added to the judges’ scores in order to determine who must leave the show. For this reason, many poor dancers have been kept on the show due to their popularity. The voting system differentiates the show from Project Runway, The Bachelor and other shows, but has proven very popular with viewers.
