Chris Brown, born Christopher Maurice Brown on May 5, 1989, is a popular American singer and actor. For Chris Brown music has always been an important part of his life. When he was younger, Chris Brown enjoyed listening to his parent’s soul albums and eventually developed an interest in the hip-hop scene.
It was at a young age that Brown Chris began to sing and dance. He cites Michael Jackson as his inspiration. His mother recognized his talent at a young age and began to search for a way for Chris Brown to get a record deal. He was eventually discovered at age thirteen by a local production team. He met the woman who would become his agent, Tina Davis, in 2004 and signed onto Jive Records.
Chris Brown released his first album, the self-titled “Chris Brown,” in 2005 at the age of sixteen. The album was later certified double platinum by the Recording Industry of Association of America (RIAA). His second album, “Exclusive,” featured the hit With You Chris Brown song. The RIAA certified this album as platinum.
The next album Chris Brown released was “The Forever Edition,” featuring the Chris Brown Forever song. Chris Brown is currently working on a new album entitled “Graffiti.” His songs are popular and widely available for listening on the You Tube Music channels. Chris Brown's music falls within the genres of hip-hop, R&B and pop. He shares this genre with other huge singers such as Beyonce and Rihanna.
Chris Brown’s relationship with fellow singer Rihanna hit the front page in 2009 when Chris Brown turned himself into the police while under investigation for domestic violence charges against an anonymous woman. The woman was later revealed to be Rihanna by the news media. The exposure of the Chris Brown Rihanna relationship resulted in massive anger from the public and the tarnishing of his name. After Chris Brown was arrested, the overwhelming public opinion caused companies to suspend his ads and radio stations to stop playing his music. It got so bad that he withdrew from making public appearances and backed out of performing at the 2009 Grammy Awards. Later, he was officially charged with making criminal threats and felony assault.
