A Closer Look at Naomi Watts
Naomi Watts is a very popular actress, but she keeps a fairly low profile compared to many celebrities. Every bit as beautiful and talented as the likes of celebrities such as Salma Hayek, Scarlett Johansson, Pamela Anderson or Megan Fox, Naomi has received enough critical acclaim to last a lifetime.
Naomi Watts was born in Britain and raised in Australia, where her acting career got its start. She has a big brother named Ben who lives in the US.
While Naomi may not attract throngs of adoring teenage fans like Kristen Stewart or Robert Patinson might, you could argue that she deserves it more. Ms. Watts has been nominated for dozens of awards in her career, including an academy award nomination for her work in “21 Grams.”
She first gained acclaim for her role in David Lynch’s avant-garde, surrealist film, “Mulholland Drive.” Her true breakout came with 2005′s remake of classic movie King Kong. However, some people may have been fans of her from one of her first roles in the cult classic “Tank Girl.”
Naomi is also noted for being one of the most “efficient” actresses in Hollywood. In other words, movies that she has been in tend to make a ton of money compared to the amount that she is paid. Jennifer Aniston was a close runner-up on the list.
Naomi is currently domestic partners with actor Liev Schreiber, though the two aren’t married. You might have seen Naomi Watts recently greeting fellow actress Angelina Joli at the premiere of her movie “Salt,” in which Schreiber also starred. The two have two children together. The boys are too young to have started their own acting careers, but perhaps one will become the next Jaden Smith. Let’s just hope they don’t go the way of the troubled Lindsey Lohan!
The next big project for Watts is a biopic based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. We haven’t seen Naomi sing before, so we’ll have to see if her pipes are more like those of Christina Aguilera or Miley Cyrus. If it goes well, maybe she’ll make a special appearance on America’s Got Talent.
