Jennifer Aniston is one of the highest-paid and most loved celebrities working in Hollywood today. Jennifer Aniston consistently tops lists of favorite celebrities, along with other actresses like Scarlett Johansson, Angelina Jolie, and Salma Hayek.


Jennifer Aniston started her Hollywood career with the role of Rachel Green on the hit sitcom “Friends.” Before she got the role, she had only played some very small parts in cancelled television series. Aniston originally auditioned for the part of Monica Geller, but producers cast Courteney Cox instead and Aniston took the part of Rachel. Her role on “Friends” made Aniston one of Hollywood’s most recognizable celebrities, partly due to her hairstyle. Dubbed “The Rachel,” it was one of the most sought-after styles in the 1990s. She starred on “Friends” from 1994 to 2004.

While she was still working on “Friends,” Jennifer Aniston started working in film as well. She played a supporting role in “She’s the One,” alongside Ed Burns and Cameron Diaz. Her first starring role was in “Picture Perfect,” with Kevin Bacon. She also starred in several small films while working on “Friends,” including “The Good Girl,” with Jake Gyllenhaal.

After “Friends” ended in 2004, Jennifer Aniston moved to films almost full-time. Some of her most notable films include “Bruce Almighty,” “The Break-Up,” and “Marley and Me.” She has also guest-starred on “Dirt,” “30 Rock,” and “Cougar Town.”

But it was her personal life that made Jennifer Aniston one of the most well-known celebrities in the world. She dated actor Tate Donovan from 1995 to 1998. In 2000, she married actor Brad Pitt. They were married for almost five years. After rumors of infidelity between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Aniston filed for divorce. The divorce (and Pitt’s and Jolie’s subsequent relationship) made Jennifer Aniston an almost permanent fixture in the tabloids. Entertainment shows even took sides in the battle – often declaring themselves to be on “Team Aniston” or “Team Jolie.”

Much like other actresses, such as Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Aniston’s personal life has been covered in the press as much as – if not more than – her professional life. She’s dated some of the most popular celebrities in Hollywood – including John Mayer and Vince Vaughn.

Jennifer Aniston has been on the Forbes Magazine Celebrity 100 List – which is based on earnings and fame – every year since 2001. She’s also been one of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People every year since 1995.
