For the average celebrity being in the limelight is part of the industry. Angelina Jolie has had her share of the press and paparazzi. She should be commended for is her acting talent and humanitarian efforts as well.
The actress has been nominated for 54 awards and has had 23 wins. That is a record to be proud of. Her film career consists of “Girl, Interrupted”, “Hackers”, “Gia”, “The Bone Collector”, “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider”, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”, “Changeling”, and “Salt” to name a few. She is among a long list of celebrities that have successful film careers.
Angelina is also a humanitarian, volunteering her time and efforts to bringing attention to global issues. She is a Goodwill Ambassador for the United States, having visited Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Pakistan and the Western Sahara. According to her biography from the website TalkTalk, “she examined first-hand the plight of refugees from Thailand and Chechnia, called for peace in Sri Lanka and pledged $5 million to a wildlife sanctuary in Cambodia”.
The celebrity has a total of six children, three with husband Brad Pitt, and three which are adopted from other countries. She explains each of her Goodwill trips to her children. “I tell my children why I’m going and I explain to them why I was packing flashlights and food. They help me pack some things. My children are from a lot of these countries, so I want them to understand what’s happening in Africa, the boys to understand what’s happening if there’s something current in their countries, and for all of them to know about each other’s countries as well.”
Angelina has a great career, a wonderful family, and interests that change the world. She has worked hard in her life to be able to do all of these things and should be commended. Anyone who has a had a rough childhood, an even rougher attempt at early adult life, and has grown into such a beautiful person on the inside should be recognized and applauded. If more people reached out like Angelina, we could make an impact that is unheard of in the world.
