Children’s Story Books That Will Broaden Their Imagination
Of all the items you can provide for your child, story books are one of the best. A well-written story book, chosen for your child’s age and reading level, will expand your child’s knowledge of areas he/she is already likes, and expand those interests to new horizons. A book of stories, whether it is fairy tales, adventure stories, or one of those “true stories” books will broaden their imaginations and inspire their minds.
It is helpful to obtain children's story books which are at the correct stage for your children. These levels take into account the child’s chronological age as well as their reading level, if they are reading by themselves. Parents, grandparents, and others looking to buy quality story books for the children they love can check with a local library or book-store, or look on-line, for best selling books at their children’s reading level. Lists of the best 2009 books have been compiled, and are available for your use.
Purchase books that fit within your child’s interests, as children often resist reading about other subjects. You can broaden their interests, however, by careful selection. A child who only wants to read about baseball can widen their interests by reading story books about baseball in the twenties, and may become interested in this historical time period. Girls interested in horses may shoot off into the world of fantasy, or westerns. Reading about space ships may interest kids in learning about astronomy. The world of the imagination is endless, and reading will help children stretch their minds, and enjoy the wider world.
