Brand New Music Video Offerings Are Creating A Buzz

Music videos promoting the hottest music songs and music groups are a key part of the music video industry, but the music video music fans prefer today are often music videos featuring the free music that they already have downloaded to their computer.

Although many music lovers grew up watching music videos on the MTV channel, the newest generation of young music fans are watching more and more music videos online. As MTV continues to make the transition from showing music culture to broadcasting reality shows, the hottest music videos of today spread virally on the internet.

One of the most interesting things about this change in the music industry is that it has drastically altered the way that people find out about new music. A decade ago, the vast majority of music lovers learned about what was hot in pop music by passively sitting in front of their television and watching whatever music video MTV decided to put on the air. Today, the way that buzz is generated on pop music could not be more different. Rather than passively being told what is hot by MTV, the average music lover has a much larger role in distributing music videos and determining which music videos get the most buzz. Today’s fans of pop music generally find out about new music videos through looking for them on sites like YouTube where nobody is telling what to watch. Instead, they are discovering music videos on their own and sharing them through social media services like FaceBook and Twitter.

As a result, the music industry has considerably less influence over generating what becomes popular than they used to. While the major record labels and media companies may have enjoyed decades of dominating the air waves and television with whatever music they were trying to push, the open ended nature of sharing music on the internet seem to bringing their reign to a close. Even in the case of mainstream pop music, it is the fans themselves that are distributing the music videos of hot performers like Lady Gaga and Beyonce.

While some people prefer to download music videos, other consumers are more interested in downloading the latest episode of their favorite television series or watching television news or internet news on their computer.
